Because TLC provides high-performance basic and advanced life support ambulance service as well as critical care transport, all field personnel are expected to wear several hats. They must be equipped to handle emergency medical and trauma situations, and they're also expected to provide "tender loving care" to patients bound for nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities.
TLC personnel qualifications include:
Trained and certified by the Texas Department of Health as either basic or paramedic EMTs
Experienced in handling fractured hips, back injuries, breathing problems, stroke patients, vehicle crash victims, emergency childbirth cases, seizure disorders, diabetic patients, heart attack victims, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) cases, and other common emergencies
